The Springville unit of the American Legion Auxiliary is pleased to announce the candidates that will be attending Utah Girls State this year. Each year those who apply go through an interview process and are judged on their performance. The candidates who have been selected to represent ALA unit 28 Springville are: Ashlyn Rich, daughter of Scott and Mandalyn Rich of Springville (Merit Academy); Mariah Ashcraft, daughter of Chris and Carrie Ashcraft of Springville (Springville High School); Addie Black, daughter of Tim and Brandie Black of Springville (Maple Mountain High School); Haley Snarr, daughter of Kenny and Daphne Snarr of Springville (SHS); Sarah Larson, daughter of Benjamin and Rebecca Larson of Springville (SHS); and Cheyanne Davies, daughter of Ron and Karen Davies of Mapleton (MMHS). Not pictured: Chloe Fullmer, daughter of Howard and Margaret Fullmer of Springville (SHS) and Emilie Wriight, daughter of Alan and Angela Wright of Springville (Merit Academy). These young ladies will represent Springville/Mapleton at Girls State, a week-long educational experience at Weber State University that teaches attendees how our democracy functions. This year’s Girls State will be held June 6-11.
