Jun 22, 2016 05:27PM

Restricted Parking on Main Street

In order to accommodate the public and businesses on Main Street, the contractor is performing much of their work at night. Parking restrictions are in effect along Main Street wherever traffic control barrels and cones are located . There will be some impact on parking during the day, but mostly during the night time hours. Please see expected times of impact below and help us get the word out.

Main Street Business Access

Access to Main Street businesses remains open during construction.

The Week Ahead

Pavement removal and replacement where the side streets intersect Main Street should be completed by the end of this week.

Pavement removal and replacement along Main Street itself is scheduled to start Friday night June 24th. Initially crews will be working in the center of the roadway and one lane of traffic will be open at each shoulder. As the center lanes are completed, traffic will move to these lanes and crews will remove and replace paving on the outside lanes and shoulders. Temporary striping will be placed over the pavement to mark the lanes. Be advised that no parking along Main Street is permitted between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. until this work is completed.

Plan on one lane of traffic being open in each direction at night once this work begins. Nighttime work hours are from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Holiday Schedule

Crews will not be working on Main Street from Friday July 1st to Tuesday morning July 5th.

Pedestrians

Crews will continue to work on the pedestrian ramps along both sides of Main Street from 300 South to 1000 North.

Please use caution and follow signs indicating where sidewalks are open while there may be closures on either the east or west side of Main Street.

Expected Impacts: • There is no parking from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM on Main Street from 1000 North to 300 South . • One northbound lane is closed at 900 North on Main Street from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM through the end of this week for storm drain work. • Parking along Main Street is not available in areas where crews are working. • Cars will be towed if parked in areas where the construction crews are working.
