Mapleton youth wins Arbor Day tree poster contest

Emma Beach, a fourth-grader at Mapleton Elementary, recently won the Sweepstakes Award for the Utah Arbor Day Tree Poster Contest. 

r By Suzanne TrantowrA community group including Orem Mayor Brunst, the Salt Lake Chamber, Miss Orem and local organizations celebrated AT&T’s new retail store at University Mall in Orem with a ribbon cutting on Nov. 16.

During the ribbon cutting, AT&T presented $3,500 donations to two local community organizations. Latinos in Action (LIA) empowers Latino youth to be college and career ready. Utah Valley University Foundation raises funds for UVU priorities including scholarships and curriculum development.

The new University Mall location at 545 East University Parkway is AT&T’s third store in Utah where customers can experience a shopping transformation and newly designed retail concept. The new store in Orem lets visitors explore and interact with the latest technology.

“Shoppers at our University Mall store will have an interactive experience that fits their mobile lifestyle,” said Amanda Harris, vice president general manager, AT&T-Rocky Mountain Region. “We want to provide an exceptional experience, and we’ve been working hard to take our stores and network to a new level here in Orem.”
