Cherry Creek Elementary is a Leader in Me school therefore, we live Stephen Covey's 7 habits. These habits are: be proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, think win-win, seek first to understand then to be understood, synergize, and sharpen the saw.
Leadership Day is a special day that Cherry Creek Crocs celebrate. Every year we showcase leadership at our school. A variety of students at our school participate in Leadership Day. The choir leaders sing, the dance leaders dance and orchestra leaders perform! Some grade levels perform songs, greeters greet visitors, students give speeches and everyone shows how they are a leader at Cherry Creek.
This year, we had a red carpet welcome! Our visitors felt like celebrities! The entire school sang our school song and recited our school mission statement and chant.
Some students commented,
"This is my first year at Cherry Creek. I am also new to the Leader in Me program. I had a great time at Leadership Day!" Fran Hernandez
"I have been at Cherry Creek and living the habits for three years. I love the habits! They have changed my life!" Dagen Cottam
"I have friends at my old school; I have met very kind people here! It was hard to get used to the habits, but once you do, they will flip your life around!" Jossalyn Clark
We hope that our visitors had a great time learning about the Leader in Me program at Cherry Creek. We had a blast sharing how we are each a leader!
