Mapleton youth wins Arbor Day tree poster contest

Emma Beach, a fourth-grader at Mapleton Elementary, recently won the Sweepstakes Award for the Utah Arbor Day Tree Poster Contest.

r Nominations may be submitted through August 31, 2017 for The Altus Award. This prestigious award recognizes individuals or corporations who possess outstanding fiscal responsibility, integrity and sustainable contribution to the Utah economy and community.

The word “altus” is a Latin adjective meaning “high, deep, noble or profound.” The recipient of the award shares and demonstrates core values of The Altus Group: 1) Building a sustainable, responsible business culture for all Utahns 2) Empowering individuals to reach their financial aspirations by teaching sound fiscal principals. 3) Developing fiscally strong family units by meeting their diverse needs through appropriate financial planning.

The Altus Group is looking for the 2017 award winner and seeks nominations of those demonstrating integrity and leadership for Utahns.

Once the nominations have been carefully reviewed in-house, a panel of third-party judges will select the winner. The award will be given at the company’s fall event, which is by invitation only. A public announcement will be made concurrently with the fall event.

The Altus Award was created in 2016 by The Altus Group, a financial partnership whose members specialize in financial products designed for a robust retirement. The first recipient of the award was Gov. Gary Herbert for his work in making Utah the most fiscally sound state in the country. Gov. Herbert accepted the award at the company’s fall client appreciation event on October 3, 2016. He graciously accepted “on behalf of all the Utah citizens who have worked to make Utah ‘The 2016 Best Place for Business by CNBC.’” He added that Utah also incorporates financial literacy in Utah’s education system and has a AAA bond rating.

Nominations may be submitted online at http://thealtusaward.com/ or via email to info@thealtusaward.com.
