Department of Oil, Gas and Mining to discuss Benjamin Quarry expansion

r The US Department of Oil, Gas, and Mining (DOGM) will hold a meeting, on November 9 to discuss their decision to grant tentative approval for expansion of the Benjamin Quarry on West Mountain.

Public input is allowed at the meeting. South Utah County Community Voice, a nonprofit organization, has contacted attorneys specializing in air quality, water rights and water safety, reclamation and mining codes and practices to help with opposition to the project, according to a post by the group shared on the Benjamin, Utah – Living Facebook group. They are encouraging members to share fact-based points with DOGM about the impact of expansion on the public.
