r On July 27, 18-year-old Luke Allen Hansen was killed in an accident at the intersection of US Hwy 6 and Expressway Lane.

Hansen, the driver of a green Saturn passenger car was transported to Utah Valley Hospital in extremely critical condition. Shortly after arriving at the hospital he died from the injuries sustained in the accident. The other driver, a 71-year-old male, was also transported to the hospital with injuries that were described as non-life threatening. The two drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles and nobody else was injured in the accident.

At this time, we know that the green Saturn was traveling North on US 6 and that as the vehicle was going through the intersection with Expressway lane it hit a GMC pickup truck head-on that was stopped in the southbound left turn lane preparing to make a left turn.  The accident is still under investigation to try and determine a cause.

Hansen was from Weiser, Idaho and was living with his sister in Spanish Fork. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The 71-year-old male was from Riverton, Utah.
